I'm the owner of DOP - Desiree Ortman Photography.  I'm what you'd call "photo obsessed."  I've been taking pictures since I was a teenager, but didn't get my first DSLR until I was 29.  I officially launched my biz in January of 2018.  While I primarily shot families at the onset of my biz, I've become the premier senior and dance photographer in Harford County, MD.  I love the one-on-one connection I get with seniors and dancers.  I am very detail oriented and focusing on photographing just one subject allows me to tweak the smallest of details to get a photo that is perfect on all levels.

 

On a personal note... I'm the mother of two pretty amazing kids - a sassy ten year old little girl with a heart of gold and a sweet and silly seven year old little boy.  I married my very own prince charming in 2008 and he's been the driving force in helping me pursue my dreams.  

 

I guess you could say I'm the creative type; I don't draw, but I love calligraphy and my brain works on overdrive thinking of creative ideas for my clients.  Before officially opening my biz in 2018, I worked in marketing and public relations for 8 years with a Fortune 500 company right here in Baltimore, MD.  I loved my job, but staying home with my babies was super important for me. 

 

I have a passion for fashion and love shoes and accessories. I'm kinda obsessed with pop culture and love Netflix.  My husband and I are movie nerds and can pretty much hold a convo in movie quotes.  We also love music and have recently gotten back into the concert scene.  Most recently we saw Mumford and Sons and The Lumineers.  Next up is Fall Out Boy, Green Day and Weezer this summer (fingers crossed we'll all be vaccinated and concerts actually happen this year).
