Happy spooky season! Did you know Des LOVES all things Halloween (well, minus the haunted houses)! She's been mesmerized by the holiday since she was a toddler. She loves dressing up and loves an original handmade costume (peep her daughter's Avatar costume over on her IG).
What better way to bring in the Halloween weekend than looking back at a zombie-themed sesh?! Des is the resident photographer at Rage Box Dance Center. Meaning, she gets to not only shoot incredible dancers throughout the year, but also bring dance concepts to life on camera!
Back in 2020, Rage Box owner, director and choreographer, Karen Muccioli choreographed a zombie-inspired tap piece... and I was lucky to be apart of it! The dance was choreographed to Human by Rag'n'Bone Man. The costumes were actually handcrafted by Karen as well! And not surprisingly, she won awards for it at competition. Sadly, Covid cut that dance season short, and the piece was only performed on stage at one competition. Which only meant one thing... it needed to be brought back to life (no pun intended).
In the summer of 2020, Des worked her magic and documented this one of a kind piece via photos. She scouted out many locations before stumbling upon an abandoned house (via Instagram oddly enough) that captured the zombie-theme perfectly. Enjoy this session gallery! But be warned... it's pretty eerie...
enjoy!
