Meet Val! She is one of Des' 2021 DOP senior reps and an aspiring model and actress.Val is moving to NYC this summer to pursue her dreams so, when booking her session with Des she knew she wanted to do something special. She's been an actress since a young age, and wanted to channel that into her senior session!
Inspired by the glamour of Old Hollywood, Val told Des she wanted to include a vintage convertible and luckily the cherry red Triumph wasn't hard to find. One of last year's reps's dad is a vintage car collector and lent us his newly painted ride which we shot on the top of a parking garage. The second portion of the shoot was shot outside of the Senator theatre in Baltimore! We were actually planning on staying local and shooting at an old hometown favorite - the Liriodendron - but due to an event scheduling conflict we had to come up with plan B. Des threw out the idea of heading downtown to the Historic Senator Theatre and it was the PERFECT location to close out Val's old Hollywood vision.
Val also opted to add on hair + make-up to her shoot. Des offers this service as an add-on to any of her senior sessions. She has an ongoing partnership with the girls of Fleurt Beauty Company and they'll travel to her studio to give girls the ultimate beauty experience before their shoot. Des highly recommends this service to all of her seniors. Not only does it enhance the overall experience, but it helps make the final images look straight out of a magazine. Val showed Rachael + Meaghan of Fleurt the image below as her inspo and I think they totally nailed her look!

“I wanted senior portraits that were more than the typical sunflower field or plain background. I wanted something personalized to me and the direction I will be heading in. As an actress, I’ve always been enamored with the glamour of Old Hollywood. I grew up watching Katharine Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe and dreaming of a career on the stage and screen. I wanted to emulate Hollywood glamour and have a senior shoot unlike any other. Desiree was wonderful to collaborate with and we had so much fun brainstorming outfits and locations! I’m so pleased with how my shoot turned out and the images that Des was able to capture! We truly brought my Hollywood dreams to life!”
