Why Have A Senior Portrait Session?| Baltimore, Maryland Senior Photographer

Happy senior season! Well, it's always senior season as far as Des is concerned (lol). Maybe you're graduating this Spring, but never got around to pics in the Fall, well guess what Class of 2021? It's not too late to book for this year. Des is currently booking for summer for the Class of 2022, but still has some select dates left in April and May for 2021 grads.

I'm sure there are 173989820 questions running through your head about your session... so, I am here to address some of them!

Why should I have a senior photo session?

Your senior session will probably be your last time being professionally photographed before your wedding (you heard that right!). Just think about it, every year you get a photo taken for the school yearbook but, what about after you graduate? Your senior photos are your last before your adult years begin!

Shouldn't that mean they should be the absolute best? Especially amidst a global pandemic! Being a 2020 graduate, I totally get it. So many traditions and opportunities were ripped out from under me! The one thing that made my senior year special was my senior photos with Des. Photos I know my family and I will cherish forever!

Why do I need a senior session, if I get pictures taken at my school?

Most graduation photos at schools offer a free yearbook photo. Any additional photos with outfit changes and different backdrops are at an additional charge. But why pay for photos with a photoshopped background, when it can be real? Senior sessions with DOP are personalized just for you! School senior photos most often don't offer digital access. Meaning, you cannot personally print any images...you must purchase "x amount of wallet prints" or "x amount of 4x6 prints". With Des, all your photos have digital release and no watermark! You can print as many as you'd like and share online.

How much does it cost?

The pricing of your senior session depends on the number of outfits, locations and photos you'd like! The packages begin at $425. For more information regarding pricing contact Des here.

How will I access my photos after they've been taken?

Des sends a "sneak peak" of your gallery within 24 hours (say what?!?) of your session. The rest of your photos will be sent to you via email within a couple of weeks. Your gallery will contain all of your photos available for download!

Where can my session take place?

Anywhere within driving distance of the Bel Air, MD area, but Des will travel anywhere!! Travel fees may apply, but she's always up for an adventure. Be creative with your session location, maybe you want to shoot on a scenic farm, or downtown Baltimore... wherever it may be, make it be you! In-studio sessions are also a fun way to capture your personality.

Do I have to know what poses to do?

No! Of course not! Des is a pro at posing all of her clients. She'll guide you through the entire session. You won't even have to think twice!

How far in advance should I book my session?

While Des has some availability this spring, she expects summer to be booked solid by the end of May/early June, so if you want to shoot in the summer, hit her up now.

While most kids like shooting their senior pics in the Fall (which is usually booked by late August), it's important to think about what you want to wear. If you prefer sundresses, I wouldn't schedule in November, it's too chilly and on the flip-side, if you want to wear jeans and a sweater, you'll be dying in August. Other things to consider - what colors do you want in your photos - if you want lush flowers, blooms in Maryland peak from July - September; if you want the peak of the fall leaves changing, you're looking at late October or early November. The city is a great choice if you don't want a lot of color, too!

Any other questions??? Shoot Des a message!

I hope this little FAQ sesh got you pumped for your senior photo session with DOP! I promise it will be an experience you'll forever be grateful for.
